After or during project interruptions, the position requires a high willingness to travel with having your work base in Cologne.


As Project Installation Manager, you are responsible for the implementation of project installation, Quality and HSE requirements at the respective DC worksites of the DC Corridor Projects. You will report directly to the Hub Manager Corridor Projects and Head of Installation and Site Management.

You will be responsible for the following aspects: 
You will support the site planning and organisation of DC and AC premium projects and will be responsible for the preparation and review of schedule and resource planning and coordination of required staff and qualifications. Furthermore, you will be the NKT representative and contact person on site. Your agenda will also include the leading of the site managers, fitters and subcontractors on site and the implementation of regular project reviews and progress reports with the project manager. Additionally, you will be responsible for the implementation of HSE requirements on site such as risk assessments, toolbox talks through to safety inspections and monitoring of audits and to maintain the quality control plan and checking the cable laying and assembly work. Another important task is the documentation of the work carried out and coordination on the construction site and to implement and support risk assessments, documenting and introducing mitigation measures. Further key tasks are:

  • Conduct or supervise high voltage testing in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Supporting sales and tender management for tenders
  • Prepare cable installation plans, claim documentation and final reports
  • Support the preparation and review of the project budget for installation works and compare the accrued site costs (staff, material, subs) with the delegated installation budget

To connect a greener world, you should have the following skills and experience:
You are an electrical / mechanical engineer or similar and you have experience with project management and site management of high voltage cable systems in an international company. Alternatively, you worked in high voltage cable or accessories engineering or R&D and you are highly motivated to start a project management certification. Furthermore, having experience in onshore high voltage cable system installation is desirable and you have actively worked with implementing lessons learned into existing and new best practice standards. As a person, you are straightforward, robust and practitioner by nature. To reach the goals of the projects on time, you work structured, targeted, sustained and you have a good overview. Further important qualifications are: 

  • Team player
  • Very good communication skills 
  • Fluent in German and English is a must, another language is an advantage
